YOUNG PEOPLE FROM MORE ADVANTAGED HOUSEHOLDS ARE 1.87X MORE LIKELY TO TAKE PART IN SPORT.
Opportunity in youth sport isn’t distributed equally. A review of 104 studies found young people from higher socioeconomic households were significantly more likely to participate in organised sport. Money is only part of the picture. Geography, transport, facilities, disability, discrimination and the opportunities available locally can all affect who gets through the door. A young person’s circumstances shouldn’t decide how much of sport they get to experience.

A young person's postcode shouldn't determine their options. More communities need safe facilities, good coaching and realistic ways to participate close to home.
03DESIGN FOR INCLUSION
Facilities, coaching and programmes should work for young people with different needs and abilities. Inclusion has to be built into sport, not added afterwards.
04MEASURE ACCESS, NOT ONLY RESULTS
Success isn't only trophies and performance. Track who gets through the door, who stays, who is missing and where opportunity is being lost.
